7th CPC PENSION CALCULATION - CUMBERSOME JOB TO FIND OUT THE NUMBER OF INCREMENTS EARNED BY A PENSIONER

 

It may be understood that at this stage either option 1 will be implemented or outrightly rejected with out giving any alternative or improved option. It I because of our own people that problem came up with great difficulty we could save rejection. Now if our on people will say that it will be difficult to implement then we loose parity fr all times.Difficulties can always be resolved

As per the 7th CPC calculation of pension at Option No 1, one of the Pensioners have suggested that instead of no of doing the cumbersome job of finding out the no of increments earned by an individual , a simple formula as below can be followed:-

Let pay in old scale is Po and min of that scale is Mo

Let the minimum of the new scale now applicable is Mn.

Let range new scale( max - min) =Rn

Let range of old scale be             =Ro

Now calculate P = Mn+ ( Rn/Ro) x( Po - Mo) 

Pay fixation can be done by raising P to next level in the pay matrix as Pn - the new pay .

With a simple computer programme it will be easy to calculate . No old records of an individual need to be dug up . 

Pension can accordingly be fixed half of Pn.

Before I remit the above proposal to the concerned agencies, I would like you to examine the above formula/calculation methodology and offer your comments with specific reference to the fitment factor of 2.81 (instead of the present approved and accepted one viz.,  2.57)
